Nick Brockamp - Director Of High School Choirs

Nick Brockamp is a vocal music educator based in Peoria, Illinois. He is a graduate of Millikin University, where he received a Bachelors of Music in Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis and is currently pursuing his Masters of Music Education at Western Illinois University. Nick serves as the Director of Choirs and Auditorium Supervisor at Glenwood High School, where he directs numerous vocal ensembles, including the Titan Fever Show Choir and Fusion Vocal Jazz Ensemble, along with teaching music production courses. He also serves as the District 4 Senior Vocal Jazz Representative for the Illinois Music Education Association and has served as guest conductor for the ILMEA District 5 Junior Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the District 186 All-City Middle School Honor Choir. In addition to his work as an educator, Nick has also worked with show choirs around the country as an arranger, consultant and clinician. In his spare time, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife Natalie, son Theo and daughter Frannie, along with playing disc golf and participating in community theater productions in the Peoria area. Nick would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the Glenwood Choral Program, along with a special thank you to his wife Natalie for all she does to support Nick’s passions as a music educator.

Chris Wilson - Director of Middle School Choirs
and High School Assistant

Chris Wilson has been a music educator and arranger for over 15 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music Education from Auburn University as well as his Master’s Degree in Human Services: Life Coaching from Liberty University. Chris is currently the Choral Director at Glenwood Middle School and serves as the Assistant Show Choir Director at Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois, which he considers a huge honor and privilege. He wants to shout out a huge thank you to Mr. Brockamp, the staff and administration at both GHS and GMS, the parents, and, most importantly, to the high school and middle school students he has come to love and appreciate so much! In addition to his education background, Chris has arranged the music for his own show choir and a cappella programs along with several schools across the Southeast and Midwest. Chris currently resides in Springfield, Illinois with his beautiful wife, Abbi, as well as his crazy golden retriever, Sebastian. He would love to wish all groups to break legs and have fun today!

Halle Brockamp - Titan Flame Director

Halle Brockamp is based in the Peoria, Illinois area. She is a graduate of Millikin University where she received a Bachelors of Music in Music Business with a vocal emphasis. Ms. Brockamp serves as the director of the Titan Flame Show Choir while also lending a hand to the rest of the show choir program. When she’s not working with the students at Glenwood, Halle works as a Service Center Quality Control Specialist for Busey Bank. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family.

Ben Eklund - Choreographer

Ben Eklund is a freelance choreographer residing in Omaha, Nebraska. Grow up in nationally recognized choral environments sparked his passion for working in the show choir industry. After graduating from Lincoln Southwest High School, he went on to study Music Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Currently, Ben designs shows, choreographs, and clinics for number of schools across the country. These schools have earned finals appearances, best vocals, best choreography, and grand champion honors. In past summers, Ben was given the privilege to choreograph a group at the Nebraska Show Choir Camp. He has also had the opportunity to choreograph for the Missouri, Illinois and South Dakota All-State Show Choirs. When choreography season slows down, Ben often spends his time with his 2 kids August and Indie, and attending NBA games with his wife Melissa when able. He feels truly blessed to work with such talented directors and fine young performers. Ben would like to thank all, especially his wife Melissa, who has supported and aided his growth as a choreographer and educator.

Matt Watson - Choreographer

Matt Watson is a freelance choreographer currently residing in Lincoln, Nebraska. His show choir journey began at Lincoln Southwest High School, where he eventually became a dance captain and two-year member of the award-winning show choir, Resonance. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. During his time at UNL, he was a four-year member and dance captain of the nationally recognized collegiate show choir, Big Red Singers. Additionally, Matt was a member of the university’s top choral ensemble, University Singers. He spent several summers at the Nebraska Show Choir Camp as a camper, counselor, and dance captain for multiple choreographers and directors. Matt has been a dedicated choreographer’s assistant for numerous award-winning choreographers. Recently, he began his professional choreography career, choreographing over 10 competitive show choirs in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. He also has been a clinician for over 20 ensembles across the Midwest. Aside from show choir, Matt has enjoyed choreographing musicals for a few different high schools.

Garrett Hale - Techincal Assistant

Garrett Hale is a Glenwood alumni who is currently at Millikin University pursuing a career in music education with a vocal emphasis. Garrett was a four year Titan Fever singer/dancer while at Glenwood. He also danced competitive at a local studio and won multiple national championships in hip-hop and tap. Garrett developed his skills with lighting and sound design and assists with auditorium events, not only at Glenwood, but also with Springfield High School, assisting with their yearly musicals. He has performed in several Springfield Muni productions and also at Theater in the Park. At Millikin, he participates in both the True Blue tenor/bass choir and the Collegiate Chorale mixed choir. Garrett has served as Vice President of UCB, the University Center Board, planning events for the Millikin student community. He is also an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Garrett is thankful for the opportunity to work with the Glenwood Show Choirs and gain valuable experience in his chosen field.
